In wake of the Pulwama Attack, extremist groups in India and the country’s media has launched a vicious anti-Pakistan campaign that has seen a total ban on Pakistani artists, removal of Pakistani cricketers’ stats from Indian websites among other moves.

Also, Indian celebrities who have adopted a neutral approach are being slammed and targeted. For example, Indian politician and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was heavily criticized for saying that ‘an entire nation could not be blamed for actions of terrorists’.
He was also called ‘anti-national’ by several elements in India and was reportedly ousted from the the Kapil Sharma show.
To this end, Kapil Sharma came in defence of Sidhu and said that the latter fully backs the government’s policy on terrorism and that ousting him from the show was not the solution. People are also asking show co-producer Salman Khan to take Sharma out as well.

On a question regarding his removal, Sidhu said he had no idea but he refused to backtrack from his comments.
“I don’t know about that (being removed from the Kapil Sharma show), but I have said it in the past, I will say it today and tomorrow too (that an entire nation cannot be blamed for acts of terrorists).”
Sidhu said that he could not be available for two episodes of the Kapil Sharma show due to personal reasons and the channel invited Archana Puran Singh in his place. He has not received any message of suspension/removal from the channel.
Last week, 44 Indian soldiers were killed when a van packed with explosives rammed into convoy of officers in Occupied Kashmir.
