'Nawaz In China For CPEC Phase-II, Eyes Ties With India Next'

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has reached China to meet with senior Chinese officials and political leadership to discuss China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) phase II, and he will also extend a friendly hand towards India in the coming months.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that many people believe that Nawaz has been eliminated from national politics and that he is living in depression inside the Jati Umra residence, but there is no truth in this theory.

He said that the Chinese leadership has strong faith in Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, adding that Nawaz is the leader of the Punjab government as he is the party’s supremo.

Suharwardy further said that Nawaz will also soon extend a friendly hand towards India in the coming months.

While responding to a question regarding PML-N leader Saad Rafique’s video being circulated on social media in which he was criticizing his own party leadership, the analyst said that Saad Rafique has clarified on X, formerly Twitter, that the video was fake and was edited to build a fake narrative.

Suharwardy said it is a reality that Saad is not much active in politics these days, but he has no differences with the Sharif brothers and party.

To another question, he responded that PML-N senior leader Rana Sanaullah has revealed on mainstream media that party leaders Javed Latif and Rana Tanveer have conflicts as both want to become the ‘king’ of Sheikhupura, but he has not revealed his own conflict with party leader Abid Sher Ali.

The analyst said that Rana Sanaullah, Javed Latif, and Abid Raza Kotla were giving statements on news channels against PML-N prior to by-polls that caused benefits to the Imran Khan-founded PTI.

While responding to a question regarding Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi’s official visit to Pakistan, Suharwardy said that the visit aimed at boosting trade ties between the two countries and also indicated Pakistan’s independent foreign policy.
