Recall that the Men in Green defeated South Korea 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, and 25-21) to get to the quarterfinal.
With their victory over South Korea, Pakistan also solidified their position as one of the top six teams.
For the first time since the Asian Games in 1994, the team finished in the top six at this time.
Prior to then, Pakistan won Group B by defeating teams from Chinese Taipei and Mongolia that were comparatively weak.
Chinese Taipei was defeated by the Green Shirts in three sets, 25-18, 25-20, and 25-19.
In contrast, they defeated Mongolia with scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-20.
