Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has agreed on seat adjustment with Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-i-Azam (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and his younger son Chaudhry Salik Hussain will contest for the seat of the National Assembly. In contrast, his elder son Chaudhry Shafay Hussain will contest elections from Punjab and Gujrat.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif refused to offer any seat adjustment to Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain and his son.
The analyst said that, for the first time in history, the Chaudhry family will contest elections against their family members.
While responding to a question regarding the presidential reference fixe for a hearing to revisit former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s murder case judgment, Suharwardy said that there is no doubt that Bhutto was judicially murdered, adding that the judiciary should reverse the verdict and apologize to the Bhutto family.
To another question, the analyst said that Supreme Court Justice Sayyed Muhammad Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa to hear his pleas at the earliest. Suharwardy said that Justice Naqvi is seeking a stay on proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), adding that only Justice Ijazul Ahsan is in his favor.
