Imran Khan To Face ‘Tougher Time’ In Coming Days: Suharwardy

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan will face a tougher time in the coming days as the army no longer has a soft corner for him following PTI’s malicious campaign regarding the May 9 riots on social media, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, the analyst said that the army is not happy with how the PTI launched another campaign on social media regarding May 9. “No political party will hold talks with Imran Khan or his party, and there is no chance of Khan’s release from Adiala Jail,” he added.

Suharwardy said that now there is no more following of Imran Khan among the army officers. He said that other PTI leaders will also be arrested soon.

While responding to a question about the conflict between the military establishment and the judicial establishment, Suharwardy said that the military establishment will ensure that PTI founder Imran Khan will not get any major relief from the courts.

To another question, the analyst said that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced that it will not become part of the joint opposition. The PTI was trying to form a six-party joint opposition against the government to give it a tough time, but the JI has refused to provide its shoulder to the PTI, he added.

Suharwardy said that the JI leadership is not in favor of Imran Khan, and they are not willing to join hands with the anti-establishment party. ‘Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain’ movement has failed before its commencement, he added.

He said that the PTI also tried to exploit protests held by people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir over inflation but badly failed in its intentions as the AJK government has successfully negotiated with the Kashmir Action Committee. People of the AJK refused to become tools of the PTI, he added.
