LONDON: Jemima Goldsmith, the British filmmaker and former wife of Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan, has married 62-year-old Irish-Australian financier and film producer Cameron O’Reilly in a private ceremony.
The wedding took place over the weekend, with the marriage confirmed by members of Goldsmith’s family. Her sister-in-law, Jemima Jones, shared a photograph on social media celebrating the occasion, writing: “Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date, what a happy day!”
Goldsmith had reportedly been dating O’Reilly for more than a year before the couple became engaged earlier this year. The pair are understood to have met through their professional involvement in films and documentaries.
O’Reilly, the son of the late Irish media magnate and former international rugby player Sir Anthony O’Reilly, is an Oxford graduate and has held senior positions in the media industry before establishing his own investment interests. He has also worked as an executive producer on films and documentaries.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Goldsmith, who has maintained a relatively private personal life since her divorce from Imran Khan in 2004.
Following their divorce, Goldsmith returned to the United Kingdom and developed a career as a journalist, screenwriter and documentary producer. She has since been involved in several high-profile film and television projects.
Among her notable projects is the 2022 romantic comedy What’s Love Got to Do with It?, which explored relationships, cultural expectations and arranged marriage. Goldsmith has previously spoken about how her experiences in Pakistan influenced her understanding of marriage and relationships.
