FIR Registered Against Several Pashtun, Baloch Students Following Clash With IJT At Punjab University

Several Pashtun and Baloch students studying at Punjab University have been named in an FIR following a clash between students groups. The clash erupted between students group at Punjab University on Friday which left several people including five security guards injured.

According to Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, the brawl took place among the activists of Pashtun Educational Development Movement (PEDM) and Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) following a discussion near the Sociology Department.
The students belonging to ethnic minority groups have alleged that the IJT attacked a Pashtun cultural event and also used knives in the attack.

People have criticised the incident and expressed concerns on the declining freedom in educational institutions. May have said that cultural activities on campuses should not be seen as a threat.
