'PML-N's Efforts Underway To Reattain Politicians From South Punjab'

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has conducted a meeting at the Governor House to re-attain politicians from south Punjab who had joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or contested the polls as independent candidates in the 2018 elections due to pressure from the establishment.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that Muhammad Afzal Chandio from Muzaargarh has joined the PML-N. He said that Chandio contested the 2018 elections as an independent candidate and lost the poll by just 17 votes.

Suharwardy said that Farah Gogi, a close friend of former first lady Bushra Bibi, is again in the news, but there has been no significant development against her in any case so far. He said that Farah’s children have filed a plea in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking the removal of their names from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The analyst said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will file a reference against former prime minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra, and property tycoon Malik Riaz in a £190 million case by the end of November.

While responding to a question, the analyst said that PTI leader Ali Nawaz Awan has been arrested in Mansehra, and he will soon address the press conference to announce quitting the PTI.

To another question regarding the future of Altaf Hussain in politics, Suharwardy said that it is yet to be ascertained whether the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) will make a silent alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or the PTI. He said that Altaf knows very well that Asif Zardari is not a trustworthy person, so there is a possibility that MQM-L will form an alliance with the Imran Khan-led PTI.
