Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has initiated a malicious campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa from its official social media accounts, which is clearly a contempt of court, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, Suharwardy said that the judiciary should take action against the PTI leadership for pursuing a malicious campaign against CJP Isa.
He said that the PTI also shared posters in support of the former Peshawar High Court chief justice, who facilitated the party by opening court at night to grant bail to PTI leader Zartaj Gull.
The analyst said that PTI propaganda is based on fake narratives. He said that CJP Isa is still not hearing cases regarding military courts. PTI is using the ‘interference in judicial affairs’ case for its political gains, despite the fact that CJP Isa stated that parliament should make laws to curb interference of establishment in judicial affairs, he added.
While responding to a question about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's threats to occupy the federal capital, Suharwardy said that everyone knows Gandaapur cannot even cross the Attock Bridge, adding that the KP CM should be declared disqualified over that statement and Governor Rule should be imposed in the province.
To another question, he responded that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman visited Jati Umra to meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif because he wants to play on both sides of the wicket. Fazl wants to act as an opposition to the government, but at the same time, he also wants to keep the governorship in KP. Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman is an expert in the politics of this pattern, he added.
