‘Political Parties, Establishment Not Willing To Hold Negotiations With PTI’

Political parties and military establishment are not willing to hold negotiations with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) because the party’s founder, Imran Khan, neither has a foreign guarantor nor a local guarantor.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwrady said that even Imran Khan is not clear on what conditions he should initiate dialogue with the establishment. He said that no one is willing to become the guarantor of Imran Khan because no one has trust in him.

The analyst said that right now there is no possibility of any negotiations between the PTI and the military establishment.

Suharwardy said that the government has been formed and Imran Khan has nothing to offer.

While talking about the alleged conflict between the judiciary and military establishment, he said that differences emerged because the judiciary wants to facilitate the PTI but is facing hindrances from the establishment.

While responding to a question, Suharwardy said that Islamabad High Court Justice Babar Sattar imposed fines of Rs500,000 each on the FIA, PTA, and Pemra, along with dismissing their petitions. Justice Sattar is taking this matter personally, he added.

“Why doesn’t Justice Sattar dare summon DG ISI and DG MI to his court and inquire who installs cameras and records audio?” he questioned. “What can he gain by insulting the FIA, PTA, and Pemra?” he asked.

While talking about JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman, the analyst said that Fazl is repeatedly talking about ‘hidden forces’ as he is a bit angry with the establishment. “We should not take Fazl’s statements seriously. He is just looking for a better deal with the government, and he has no intention to become an opponent,” he added.
