Peshawar
For the first time since the inception of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a woman police officer has been posted as an assistant district officer (ADO). The woman, Hina Munawar, has been appointed in FC Swat.
Regarding the development, FC Deputy Commandant Afsar Rehmat Khan said that it was a good sign that for the first time, a lady police officer had been posted to perform duties at FC Swat. Afsar Khan further said that there was no woman official at the ‘soldier level’ in FC Swat, adding that the woman ADO would be creating history with her appointment.
Recently, seven woman police officers had been posted at FC on deputation basis. Out of them, four are serving in Islamabad, two in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one in Gilgit Baltistan. These young officers have been recruited as assistant superintendent of police (ASP) and have been posted in the FC for a period of one year.
While talking to media, ADO Hina Munawar, who hails from Faisalabad, stated that she was not worried of the harm that would come her way in the way of duty. She added that she was married with a child and would manage both aspects of her life side by side.
Hina stated that she felt proud to be posted in FC Swat, and was committed to work for the betterment of soldiers as ADO. She also expressed the hope that she would smoothly handle affairs as FC Swat’s first woman assistant district officer.
