In a major faux pas, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Kanwal Shauzab said that 32,500,000 (3.25 crore) people in United Kingdom have tested positive for the fatal coronavirus.
The PTI lawmaker in an interview to journalist Mansoor Ali Shah on his show said: “Out of UK’s 65,000,000 (6.5 crore) total population, 32,500,000 (3.25 crore) have been infected with coronavirus.”

Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Uzma Bukhari and Sindh’s Minister for Women Development and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shehla Raza started laughing on Mansoor’s show, when Kanwal Shauzab made the said false claim on national television.
However, according to UK’s government and health authorities, there are more than 245,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Kingdom to date. Moreover, more than 34,000 people have lost their lives after contracting the deadly virus.
Across the globe, 4,800,000 (4.8 million) people have contracted coronavirus, out of which 1.79 million have recovered successfully and discharged from the hospitals, while 318,000 people have died of the virus to date worldwide.
