Pakistan Citizen Portal Ranked 2nd Best Govt Mobile App At World Summit

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s Pakistan Citizen Portal App was ranked as the second best government mobile app in the world at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates.

A total of 4,166 mobile apps were nominated from 87 countries across the world in the ‘Best Citizen Service Delivery Competition’ category. The PTI government’s initiative made the top-3 and was termed the second best mobile app introduced by government.

This is the first time any government app from Pakistan has won international acclaim. The app got a rating of 4.5 out of a total 5 and stood 7th in the most searched apps on Google, a tweet from Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed.

Khan also said that out of the 420,000 complaints received via the app (which was developed within 45 days and launched on October 28 in 2018), a total of 250,000 issues have been resolved.

Khan also said that the app was developed free of cost by a team in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

In December 2018, the PTI social media wing had launched statistics of the app's performance in the first month of its introduction.

Since its launch, a total of 535,134 individuals have used this app. Among these, 493,705 are in Pakistan, 39,946 are overseas while 1,482 are foreigners. During the first one month, 25,476 complaints were received and 1558 cases were resolved till the filing of PTI’s stat report.
