‘I will win for Pakistan’: MMA fighter Tayyab vows to make country proud on international stage
MMA fighter Muhammad Tayyab Usmani has vowed to make the country proud and give the nation the perfect New Years present by winning his debut fight on international stage.

He will take on Philippines counterpart Alfredo Melendres in a Lightweight bout at Aspera Fighting Championship Asia on January 12 at Sagul Malingap Food Park, Manila.

Aspera TWO fight card

Tayyab is one of the many MMA fighters who are making a name for themselves around the world and making the country proud.

This will be Tayyab's first bout in Aspera FC Asia-2. The MMA prospect has also won several medals in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and BJJ competitions around the world.

Speaking about his fight, Usmani said that he was grateful to Aspera FC for the opportunity and that he would win this fight for Pakistani nation as a New Years gift.

He added that his opponent Alfredo was a tough fighter but the young Pakistani star was ready for him. “I know that if I could win this fight, it will be a turning point in my fighting career. I would also like to wish everyone a happy new year.”

Usmani is considered as one of the rising stars in Pakistan’s fast growing mixed martial arts industry. He has fought for local promotion Fighting Alliance, while he also trains with Team Quest in Thailand. He is student of known martial artist Dylan Fussel.

In a cricket-dominated country like Pakistan, MMA is growing without any government support and is gaining remarkable success. Last year, Bahrain-based promotion Brave CF hosted its first event in Pakistan, in which several top international stars participated.
