Third Umpire's decision causes controversy as South Africa close in on victory
South Africa are in a strong position to win the first Test match of the three-match series against Pakistan thanks to their professional performance.

Things, however, could have been different had Fakhar Zaman not dropped Hashim Amla on 8 and the Third Umpire had upheld the on-field call which was reversed much to the surprise of many.

It might not have made much of a difference, though we could never know in low scoring games.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE FIRST SESSION OF DAY 3

It was 18/1 when Dean Elgar was caught by Azhar Ali in the slips. Although initially it was given out by the on-field umpire, the decision to turn around the field Umpire's call by the Third Umpire was not very well received by the Pakistan fans and players.

Had all of the above gone Pakistan's way, SA would have been 18/3 and who knows, what would have happened next.

Nonetheless, we leave it to the people to decide.
