He was briefing Shoaib Ahmed Siddique, Federal Secretary for Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. According to Tech Juice, the managing director informed Siddique that remittances of the industry have surged by 9.9% in 2018-19.
It is pertained to mention here that federal minister for IT &T had directed Siddique to review PSEB`s performance and enhance efforts for Pakistani IT sector to tap into international markets. As per Tech Juice, During the briefing, the secretary emphasized the need to focus on international marketing efforts by enhancing the participation of Pakistani IT companies in international events.
The meeting further noted that bandwidth tariff has been reduced to 35% which comes as the government`s plan to propagate ease of doing business.
It is important to note that the authorities have also revamped the PSEB’s website. The website now includes online registration of companies and availability of online directory of IT companies in Pakistan.
Tech Juice quotes Secretary IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, who praised the achievements of the country’s IT industry and stressed the need to facilitate the growth of software exports in developed markets, helping software firms to explore new markets, accelerate the completion of IT Parks in Islamabad and Karachi. He also stressed on providing an efficient environment to the private sector which promotes 'Ease of Doing Business."
The government has been pursuing such initiatives to promote business ventures and make Pakistani markets widely accessible.
