As controversy on urban flooding in Karachi refuses to cool down, Geo News has broadcasted footage of flash floods in Peru, claiming it to be a video portraying a locality of the provincial capital after record-breaking rain.
The news channel claimed that water has' entered the Baloch Colony and Dada Bhai Colony after the embankment on Malir Rivulet collapsed'. However, there was zero truth to these claims.
The media outlet was called out by social media users, who said the channel was 'playing with emotions and sensationalising floods' by spreading misinformation.
The actual footage of Peru where the flash flood wreaked havoc.
Some social media users also accused the mainstream media of being biased against Sindhis.
