The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast indicating a shift in weather conditions for the upper regions of the country, with rain anticipated from October 5 to 8. In contrast, Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry.

According to PMD, a westerly wave is set to approach the upper parts of Pakistan on October 5, bringing rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms. Isolated heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms are forecasted for several areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, and Nowshera.

Mardan, Kurram, Orakzai, Kohat, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan are expected to experience similar weather conditions with rain and thunderstorms from October 5 to 7, with intermittent dry spells.

In the federal capital, Islamabad, and nearby cities in Punjab, including Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, and Faisalabad, rain with wind and thunderstorms, along with isolated hailstorms, are forecasted for October 5, 7, and 8.

Further south, Punjab cities such as Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and Bhakkar will likely see rainy weather from October 6 to 8, with occasional gaps in precipitation.

In Azad Kashmir, areas including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur are also predicted to experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with isolated moderate to heavy rainfall and hailstorms from October 5 to 8.

Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan regions such as Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Ghanche, and Shigar are expected to observe a similar weather pattern, including the possibility of heavy rainfall, from October 5 to 8.

In Balochistan, cities including Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Lasbella, Panjgur, and Awaran will experience rains with wind and thunderstorms on October 6 and 7.
