Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa's father-in-law breathed his last on Thursday night after losing his battle to cancer. The judge had spoken of his father-in-law's illness during the proceedings of the case pertaining to the presidential reference against him over allegations that his wife possessed illegal properties in the UK. Justice Isa had told the court that his wife could not appear in person as she was attending to her ailing father.
Journalist Asad Ali Toor reported that Justice Isa's wife Sarina Isa who appeared before the Supreme Court through a video link had told the bench that her father's dying wish was to get his family's name cleared in the case of illegal properties. "My father is dying and from his death bed he told me to go and clear our family's name in the corruption case", she said. The journalist further said that the judge's wife became teary-eyed while informing the court of her father's condition.
