Sindh University Student Allegedly Killed By Police A Month After Abduction

Social media users are outraged over the death of a student of Sindh University a month after his abduction. The deceased Irfan Mufti’s body was found on Monday a month after he was abducted by police personnel. While the student’s fellows and social media activists claim he was abducted under mysterious circumstances, the police have claimed that he was a wanted criminal who was killed by the police in an ‘encounter’.
Activists have sought an inquiry into the incident, after it emerged that he may have been killed by the law enforcers who illegally detained him.
Activist Ammar Ali Jan also called on the Sindh government to probe the matter, adding that its silence in this case would be equivalent to complicity.
Shocking to hear about death of Irfan Jatoi, a student from Sindh University, in an alleged encounter in Sukkur. He was arrested on 10th Feb & his dead body was recovered yesterday.
Sindh govt must investigate this incident as silence would mean complicity. #JusticeForIrfanJatoi
