Asif Butt aka DJ Butt, the renowned sound system and video vendor, was granted bail by a local court on Thursday. He was released on bail against surety bonds worth Rs50,000.
Punjab police had arrested Butt on Wednesday for allegedly possessing illegal weapons. Butt told the authorities during the hearing of the case that the rifle that the police recovered from his possession was not illegal as he had a license for it. Further, he claimed that he was tortured by police in custody. However, he said that he was still “Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tiger”.
DJ Butt has been known for providing sound system for PTI rallies including the 2014 Islamabad sit-in. He is now providing his services to the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which is all set to hold its rally in Lahore on December 13. The first PDM public meeting in Lahore will be hosted by PMLN.
