Sarina Isa, wife of Supreme Court's judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa, has said she was deeply hurt by continuous harassment and humiliation and the 'disgusting tactics' that the government has resorted to in the offshore properties case against her husband.
In a statement, she said: "I continued to be harassed and humiliated and faced false propaganda. It was said that I was not receiving FBR notices on June 25, the very day I lost my father. The false pretext was then used to post notices on the gate of the house... to humiliate me in front of my household staff and in neighbourhood."
She said she was [secretly] recorded on a video when she visited the FBR office on July 9 and then the video was used to imply that she was lying about her leg injury. She added that she had to attach an X-Ray to show that there was a metal plate that connects her leg to the hip joint to negate the propaganda.
The statement also quoted the judge's wife on how statements were attributed to her in the media about the things that she didn't say while the actual content of her reply was suppressed.
Moreover, she also questioned the government's decision to drag her husband in the case that concerned her. She said rather than appreciating people voluntarily coming forward to declare their income, the 'misogynist coterie' attacks them. "Or is it because I am a woman and the misogynist coterie doesn't respect women's independent financial status."
Earlier, Sarina submitted her response to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), while reportedly also asking the authority whether Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shahbaz Akbar and Farogh Nasim had disclosed the properties of their wives and children in their income tax records.
Sarina submitted a six-page reply to the authority on Friday, more than three weeks after the top court quashed a presidential reference against the senior judge.

Sarina also said on the occasion that propaganda is being carried out against her on the media over baseless allegations. She also raised questions on the amount of tax submitted by the premier to the national exchequer.
The SC suspended the reference unanimously in a short order on June 19. However, seven out of 10 judges including Justice Umar Bandial, Justice Muneer Akhtar, Justice Faisal Arab Justice Qazi Ameen among others ordered the case be sent to FBR which was directed to issue notices to Justice Isa’s wife and children and settle the matter within 7 days. They had also directed the FBR to send the report of its inquiry to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
Earlier, Sarina had approached the authorities after a cleric, identified with the name of Agha Iftikharuddin had posted a video, threatening the judge, other judges of the top court and the judiciary. He later submitted an unconditional apology with the court, saying he had 'spoken nonsense due to continuous use of medicines.
