No Ventilator For Corona-Positive Cardiac Surgeon In Lahore As He Fights For Life
A cardiac surgeon in Lahore, Dr. Salman at Services Hospital did not get a a ventilator bed for his treatment in the city. As his condition got critical due to coronavirus, he needed breathing support but the hospital did not have ventilator even for its own doctor.

Young Doctors Association told a local news channel that the senior doctor has been administered anesthesia but these are just temporary measures.

Previously, Lahore General Hospital's (LGH) 16 doctors have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus during the last one week while fighting against the pandemic on the frontlines.

The hospital administration had written a letter to the hospital’s chief, saying, “16 doctors of orthopaedic department of LGH got Covid-19 during last one week and remaining doctors are in quarantine.”

Earlier, it had been revealed that Punjab Health Department’s summary of the coronavirus situation in the country from May 15, in which it had warned that 670,000 people could be infected with the virus in Lahore alone, was brushed under the carpet by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The Punjab government went ahead with the decision to lift the coronavirus restrictions despite its own health department’s advice to impose a complete lockdown in the province for 15 days.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Capt (r) Muhammad Usman has confirmed that the summary was forwarded to the CM on May 15. It based its findings on the samples collected from coronavirus hotspots, private residences, and offices in the provincial capital.
