Justice Isa Says All Military Hospitals Should Be Opened To Public In Light Of Covid Situation
Supreme Court (SC) judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa has said that all government and military-run hospitals in the country should be opened to public in light of the coronavirus situation in the country.

Justice Isa who was hospitalised after being infected with Covid issued a message from the hospital, saying that he and his wife contracted Covid despite stringently following all precautionary measures. He said that Islam gives clear instructions about taking precautions during an epidemic, but people do not seem to take the virus seriously. The judge lamented that coronavirus SOPs were openly flouted during Eid ul Azha and prayers at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad were held without social distancing protocol.

Justice Isa added that the class difference in our society may became a reason for further loss of lives from Covid. He said that all hospitals should be open to public so Covid situation can be handled. He said that Article 9 of the Constitution guarantees protection of life, which makes controlling this pandemic a collective responsibility.

Last week, Justice Isa was hospitalised due to complications from the coronavirus on the advice of doctors. He was declared positive for the deadly virus last week and has been being treated at his home since.

A panel of doctors examined him and advised that he be shifted to a hospital for further treatment. His medical reports, including computerised tomography (CT) scan, were initially found unsatisfactory, sources said. However, the judge is now on the road to recovery.
