The president's son, who is a doctor himself, is being criticised for sharing false information with thousands of his followers on social media. Twitterati called out Alvi for advocating resumption of 'routine life' at a time when doctors all over the country are demanding stricter lockdown restrictions. A user said, “Just like your father, you are also downplaying the virus. Both of you bring shame to the field of dentistry. Volunteer in a hospital and see the condition of the sick.”

The virus has claimed 279 lives in Pakistan, while 3,029 patients have recovered successfully and have discharged from the hospitals.
The national tally of coronavirus confirmed cases has risen to 13,328, with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan confirming 5,446, 4,615, 1,864, 781 cases respectively. Meanwhile, 318 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 245 in Islamabad, and 59 in Kashmir have reported to date.
