‘President Alvi Likely To Face Trial Under Article 6 In April 2024’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and President of Pakistan Arif Alvi will face trial under Article 6 after the expiry of his tenure in 2024 for dissolving the National Assembly by violating the Constitution and the law.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that President Alvi was trying to make PTI Chairman Imran Khan and the establishment fools, but he badly failed in his goal.

While responding to a question about the arrest of PTI leader Asad Qaiser, the analyst said that the reconciliation formula of Asad Qaiser, Arif Alvi, and Muhammad Ali Durrani has been drowned, adding that they were pursuing the reconciliation formula and were making efforts to form a new group within the PTI.

Suharwardy said that now there is no space for hypocrisy in the game of politics anymore. He mentioned that when former PTI leader Usman Dar confessed during his interview that Imran Khan gave instructions for the May 9 riots, Asad Qaiser uploaded his video message to deny the allegations.

While responding to a question regarding Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s remarks in which he urged the media to refrain from making negative statements about general elections, Suharwardy said that the chief justice acted just like former DG ISPR Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor, who also instructed the media to practice positive reporting in 2018.

The analyst said that the court should not force the media at ‘gunpoint’ to report positively regarding polls.

To another question, he said that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) is trying to create its own space in politics, adding that the IPP is the future of politics in Punjab.
