Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplaces on Tuesday said that sending unwanted ‘good morning’ messages to female colleagues is unprofessional behavior and also a form of harassment.
According to media reports on Tuesday, Kashmala Tariq said that ‘good morning’ messages to women was also a form of harassment. Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi, Tariq said that she has received a lot of complaints from women who faced harassment at the work place.

“There are several complaints regarding harassment where peon is also involved in the offence. If anyone is insisting for tea, it also comes in the form of harassment,” she said, adding that harassment is not just sexual, but comes in different shapes.
Later, she took to Twitter and expressed displeasure over media taking her words out of context. Kashmala said that she did not mean ‘good morning’ messages, but unwanted messages and advances and stalking on social media. “Media should not take just one line out of context.”
