‘PBC, SCBA Issue Press Releases Against CEC At Behest Of Senior Lawyer Ahsan Bhoon'

The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) have issued press releases against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja at the behest of senior lawyer Ahsan Bhoon, as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had refused to make a new constituency in Hafizabad on his demand.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that Ahsan Bhoon wants to contest the general elections, and for this purpose, he asked the CEC to form a new constituency in Hafizabad, but the CEC refused to fulfill his demand.

While responding to a question regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa, Suharwardy said that the state institutions should take notice of the campaign aimed at defaming the CJP.

The analyst said that the Airport Security Force (ASF) officials involved in leaking old letter for propagandistic purposes should be detained and action initiated against them.

While talking about the raid conducted by Sialkot police to arrest former PTI leader Usman Dar’s brother, Umar Dar, Suharwardy said that both men are using their mother as a shield to pursue their political agenda.

The analyst said that Usman Dar, Farrukh Habib, Fawad Chaudhry, and many others who quit the PTI and backstabbed Imran Khan after the May 9 incident are now looking for an opportunity to join the party again, but Imran Khan is not willing to give party tickets to anyone who backstabbed him.

Suharwardy said that Usman Dar, during the tenure of the PTI government, tried his best to conduct a trial of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif under Article 6, adding that Asif faced jail but remained associated with Nawaz Sharif during a hard time.
