January 14 marks the 7th death anniversary of Pakistan's first youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Arfa Karim Randhawa.
In 2004, Arfa became the youngest MCP at the age of nine. At the age of the 10, Arfa was granted pilots license and also had her name mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.
She also represented Pakistan on various international IT forums including the TechEd Developers Conference.
In 2011, at the age of 16, Arfa suffered a cardiac arrest and epileptic seizure that damaged her brain. She passed away days later and rests at Chak No. 4JB Ram Dewali in Faisalabad.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar offered tribute to the IT genius saying that she is a ray of hope for the existing generations and also for generations to come.

For her genius, Arfa was awarded Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan. She also received Fatima Jinnah Gold medal in the field of science and technology and Salaam Pakistan Youth Award.
