Property tycoon Malik Riaz has met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif in Dubai and asked for help to get out of the crisis he is currently facing, but the former prime minister denied giving any assistance or favor in this regard.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that the meeting between Malik Riaz and Nawaz Sharif lasted for about an hour, but the property tycoon had to leave in disappointment as Nawaz refused to extend any favor.

The analyst said that Nawaz told Riaz that “they are not against him, but they also can’t provide any help to him.”

While talking about Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed’s interview, Suharwardy said that Sheikh Rasheed has a one-party seat, and after his interview, he was not in a position to adjust seats with any major political party, adding that the AML chief's political career has ended and he should quit politics now.

Suharwardy said that journalist Asad Ali Toor spread disinformation in his vlog that Sheih Rasheed was slapped and tortured by security personnel during the recording of the aforementioned interview. He said that Toor’s vlog helped Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to utilize that opportunity to promote its agenda. “It seems someone gave the wrong information to Asad Ali Toor,” he added.

While responding to a question regarding the formation of a five-member bench to hear pleas against civilians’ trials in military court, the analyst said that former chief justice Umar Ata Bandial was a coward; that’s why he adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period before his retirement, but Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is an upright top judge, and he proved it by formulating a bench to hear the case.
