Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday declared the educational institutions in Peshawar as coronavirus quarantine facilities to cater to the suspected patients of the fatal virus.
The News reported that KP authorities have issued a notification declaring the premises of student hostels at Peshawar University campus, Postgraduate Medical Institute Peshawar, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical Institute, Pakistan Academy for Rural Development, and sub-campuses of other universities and educational institutions located in the provincial capital.
The administration has also asked the Capital City Police to ensure deployment across the declared quarantine facility to prevent any unauthorised movement in and out of the premises.
“The entry/exit shall be strictly regulated through authority issued either by Peshawar Health Department or the district administration,” the notification stated.
The national toll of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 448, confirming 23 cases of the deadly virus in KP. Moreover, the government officials have confirmed two coronavirus deaths in KP and one in Sindh.
