Adviser to PM Nadeem Afzal Chan’s friend Mukhtara, who rose to fame in March after a leaked audio clip, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Chan has released a video message announcing that his friend has contracted the disease. Mukhtara says that he had followed the coronavirus SOPs and tried to abide by every restriction, but the virus still caught him.
In March, an audio call of Nadeem Afzal Chan went viral on social media, in which he can be heard speaking to Mukhtara and telling him that thousands of people are dying of coronavirus but the government is under-reporting the number of cases.
He said, “the country’s situation is very serious right now. You [Mukhtar] should go to your hometown Hafizabad. Don’t come out and keep the children inside. Currently, thousands of people are dying of coronavirus, but the government is under-reporting the cases.”
