The commission will be headed by the provincial interior minister. According to media reports, the commission will give recommendations on the protection of members of the Hazara community especially during their road travel. It will also probe the issue of missing persons belonging to the Hazara community.
Further, the provision of CNIC and passports to the Hazara community will also be looked into by the newly constituted commission.
Apart from reviewing security, the commission will also recommend arrangements to provide job opportunities to members of the Hazara community. It will also suggest compensation for heirs of victims of violence belonging to the community.
In January, 11 coal miners from the Hazara community were shot dead after which their families held a protest seeking security and justice. Prime Minister Imran Khan had visited Quetta and held a meeting with the families of the victims after social media pressure.
