Dr Hassan Auj, son of assassinated Prof Dr Muhammad Shakeel Auj, has received a threatening letter from extremists.
Journalist Bilal Farooqi has alleged that Dr Hassan Auj has been receiving threats by the ‘goons’ of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT). He said the life of Hassan is in danger.

Hassan’s father Dr Shakeel, dean of Islamic Studies at Karachi University (KU) was gunned down in the city apparently over his open-mindedness. Dr Hassan Auj posted a status on Facebook, saying “got a threatening letter where they asked me to stop or they will destroy my reputation. Now I am feeling genuinely courageous to stand up these goons.”
