Ambassador of Pakistan to China Naghmana Hashmi, said on Sunday that she was not permitted to visit the stranded students in the corona-virus hit Wuhan and Hubei.

The Pakistani envoy said that they would have reached the Pakistani students but due to the complete lockdown in Wuhan, they were not able to do so. She said her team was giving psychological assistance to the citizens stranded in the quarantined areas.

“The Pakistani officials are in contact with their Chinese counterparts in Beijing and Wuhan and have been promptly replying to all the queries by the Pakistani citizens in China,” Naghmana said.

Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan also took a similar stance, saying it understands the situation of Pakistani students in Wuhan and Hubei. “China will care about you as our own. Things are getting better, and please rest assured you are well protected,” said Chinese Embassy Pakistan on Twitter.
