According to a notice issued by the Undergraduate Studies Office of the university, the wearing of a student’s uniform was made compulsory for both boys and girls of the BS/Master’s programmes.
The notice gave the final date for adherence to this rule as March 1 of 2020.
Academic and activist Ammar Rashid, while expressing his criticism for the decision, said that this was the first major step of the university after the harassment scandal. He added that harassment was not related to clothes but power and patriarchy, adding that students were being infantalised instead of being listened to.
