A tweet has been doing the rounds on social media wherein Islamabad-based American blogger Cynthia Ritchie has allegedly posted a tweet accusing a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) minister of raping her.

The tweet does not appear on her timeline and she has denied having posted such an accusation, but twitter user (Sidrah Memon) posted a recording showing the tweet by Cynthia.

Reportedly, Cynthia tweeted: “My first target was PPP but it’s not that I’m going to spare the rest of political parties. PML-N, PTI and top journalists. Guess whose coming for you! A famous PTI minister raped me also.”

On Sunday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Rehman Malik sent a Rs500 million defamation notice to Cynthia Ritchie for levelling ‘fake’ rape allegations. The former interior minister asked for an ‘unqualified public apology’ within 15 days.

DAWN reported that The PPP leader, through his lawyer, noted that Rehman Malik met Ritchie in his office in Ministry of Interior in the presence of Azam Swati's daughter regarding a visa issue. "Any other meeting regarding your visa with [Malik] is out of the question," it read.
