Fayyaz Chohan Sacked by Punjab Government Over Anti-Hindu Comments
Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hasan Chohan was on Tuesday sacked by the Punjab government over use of derogatory language against the Hindu community.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Chohan had used derogatory terms such as ‘cow urine drinkers’ and ‘idol worshippers’ for the Hindu community. Later, he apologized saying that he was referring to the ‘Hindus of India and not those living in Pakistan’.

The minister was slammed by party leaders, journalists, activists, politicians and ordinary citizens for his use of language. Majority of the social media users had asked for Fayyaz to be removed.

The Pakistan Hindu community has shown disgust and disappointment over Chohan’s remarks and said that people like Fayaz must not represent Pakistan.

Social Media users are also welcoming his resignation. Murtaza Solangi says that Chohan did not deserved to serve as a minister and that he was unfit to hold public office.

‘This is Naya Pakistan’: says Imran Ghazali that action will be taken against anyone who uses hate speech.

‘Fine he resigned but Fayaz Chauhan shouldn’t be set free for hate spewing here and there. He should be held under hate speech and violence incitement’
