India Bars Navjot Singh From Entering Pakistan Through Wagha
Indian authorities on Saturday barred Indian politician Navjot Singh Sidhu from entering Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border between Lahore and Amritsar.

Reportedly, Sidhu was in possession of a five-day visa, but despite this fact authorities stopped the former cricketer from entering Pakistan.

Sidhu would now be entering Pakistan from Kartarpur.

On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government had assured the Indian National Congress legislator that he would be allowed to travel to Pakistan via Wagah. The assurance was given after Navjot Singh had written his third letter to the Indian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, requesting permission to visit Pakistan.

The Pakistan Foreign Office had confirmed on Thursday that it had issued a visa to Navjot Singh for the Kartarpur Corridor inauguration.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said, "Pakistan has issued visa to Indian politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for his visit to holy shrine of Baba Guru Nanak."
