'All Stakeholders Willing To Hold Elections On Feb 8 Except PTI'

All political parties, establishment, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) are ready to hold general elections on February 8 except the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that the PTI propaganda cell wants to create uncertainty about elections as the party doesn’t have any candidates to contest the polls.

The analyst said that if elections are delayed until September, the only beneficiary will be the PTI. He further said that if the PTI fails to hold intra-party elections within time, the ‘bat’ symbol will be lost by the party.

Suharwardy said that former prime minister Imran Khan will have to appoint a new chairman of the party to protect the ‘bat’ symbol.

While talking about the alleged acid attack on former PM’s adviser Shahzad Akbar, the analyst said that it was the tactic of the PTI to defame the country with the aim of destabilizing relations between Pakistan and Britain. He said that Shehzad is not a key figure who could be targeted.

While responding to a question regarding former first lady Bushra Bibi’s vehicle being surrounded by protestors outside Adiala jail, Suharwardy said that the PTI is facing karma as, in the past, party workers used to surround Nawaz Sharif’s residence in the UK in a similar pattern.
