Men Threaten To Burn Van After Women Students Resist Harassment
RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police have arrested two out of three men on Thursday who allegedly threatened to burn a van after women students called them out on their harassment and catcalling.

The students, studying in different schools and colleges in the city, also protested outside the district police officer’s (DPO) office. They alleged that the men routinely harassed them every time they arrived at their educational institutes.

According to the students, the three suspects, namely Bilal, Adil and Ishaq, first threatened and then attempted to set their van on fire when they were told to stop the persistent harassment and catcalling.

Police said that a first information report (FIR) has been registered against the accused on behalf of the van driver, namely Tanveer.

The driver said that the men tried to intimidate him and the young students with weapons when they were asked to stop behaving like goons.

He also told police that the three men had threatened to set his van on fire if he interfered on behalf of the students.
