Opposition Agree on Removing Sanjrani, Will Observe July 25 As Black Day
The opposition on Wednesday decided to observe July 25 as black day and agreed on removal of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani at an All Parties Conference held in Islamabad.

It was decided that they would first move a resolution and then no-confidence motion, if Sanjrani did not resign. Meanwhile, a committee was formed to select the new Senate chairman.

Meanwhile, discussions will continue on formation of steering committee to launch agitation against the PTI government.

However, sources said both PPP and PML-N rejected the proposal of mass resignations from the assemblies put forwarded by JUI-F leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.

The representatives of both the parties reiterated that resignations won't resolve the mass issues, and the opposition would lose the opportunity to give its point of view in the parliament.

On the other hand, the APC in a joint declaration rejected the policies and governance of the PTI government and termed it a 'huge security risk'

The APC, held on the suggestion of Fazl, was attended by Maryam Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Asfandyar Ali Khan and others.

The BNP-M led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal, which had been attending opposition meetings despite sitting on the treasury benches, decided against attending the meeting.

In a written message sent to Fazl, Mengal asked the opposition to consider his party's recommendations. The Jamaat-i-Islami, which is sitting on the opposition benches, had already distanced itself from the conference.

The APC declared that the PTI government's governance had become a threat to national integrity, sovereignty and interests. The declaration said that the poor were facing the brunt of the series of disastrous policies and the given contemporary political situation was paving the way for a violent revolution.

The opposition parties declared that the PTI government was fulfilling the interests of foreign elements and had become a huge security risk.
