The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assured the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of issuing the rules for release of sales tax refunds today (Wednesday) and said there would be no liquidity crunch for export-oriented sectors during the current fiscal year, reported The News.
According to the newspaper, FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi along with his team on Tuesday visited the ISI headquarters and gave a briefing on abolishing the zero-rating regime for five export-oriented sectors, including textile, in the budget.
Meanwhile, some people on social media reacted to the news item, as they questioned the wisdom of briefing the spy agency on economic matters and the government relinquishing its authority.
