KP To Hire 12,000 More Teachers To Tackle Education Crisis
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is set to hire 12,000 more teachers in secondary and elementary schools across the province as a means to counter the educational crisis.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was briefed about the hiring of teachers and the situation of schools across the province. He said that strict measures should be adopted to ensure that teachers fulfill their duties with utmost honesty.

CM Mahmood said that attendance of teachers should be ensured in schools throughout the province, adding that educational reforms were the top priority of the provincial government.



The chief minister stated that posting and transfers in the education department should be based on merit and performance of teachers. He also directed to establish a radio network which will be used to effectively communicate the government's policies.

The Chief Minister has also directed the Information Department to undertake pragmatic steps for completion of media colonies in selected districts of the province.

Earlier this year, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Elementary and Secondary Education Chairman Taj Muhammad Khan revealed that 2.6 million children are out of schools in the province.



Moreover, over 100 schools are still unconstructed in the two districts of Hazara division which had forced the students to away from the education as the weather of the two districts harsher in the summer and winter.

Over half a million students are enrolled in the two districts and directed the relevant authority to take hasty steps for the reconstruction of schools.

Moreover, Taj expressed shock over the retirement of teachers on medical ground and directed to resolve the issue on a permanent basis.
