According to a student who shared the details of the university's financial statement on social media, LUMS saved over Rs500 million due to 'the closure of campus' in the wake of Covid crisis. It went on to question the motives behind the decision to stick to the online classes, asking whether the campus was being closed due to health concerns or there were other factors at play.

Some students also questioned if other universities, like the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) can open campuses then why not the LUMS.
They need to learn from IBA #ReopenLUMS https://t.co/pEO2mbdlAt

Another student criticised the open house organised by the university to deal with the concerns of its students, saying the university was 'becoming highly allergic to criticism and dissent'.
LUMS organised an open house to deal with the concerns of its students. However, it turned out to be a pathetic session where the admin wanted students to adopt an absolute docile behavior. It seems like LUMS is becoming highly allergic to criticism & dissent. #LUMS #reopenLums

Another questioned the admin's indifference to the plight of the students.
LUMS admin held an open house and told us we’re acting like entitled rich kids and that if we’ve a problem we should take our money & go somewhere.
Disappointed but not surprised.

If the decision to keep semester offline is for our safety then I am willing to sign a waiver. Part of our insurance covers our medical khudanakhuwasta if we contract something. But depriving us of an important yeae of our life which will define our career is insane. #ReopenLUMS
