Motorway gang rape case prime suspect Abid Malhi's father has claimed that his son had surrendered himself to the police. The authorities had earlier stated that Malhi was arrested from Faisalabad after a tip-off from Intelligence Bureau (IB), Special Branch of the police and other agencies.
But the suspect's father says that Malhi had surrendered to the police over a phone call after which they came to arrest him in Lahore's Manga Mandi area. Further, he demanded the police to release the women of his family who were arrested earlier.
IG Police Inam Khan had claimed that the accused was arrested by the police.
