'Imran Khan Likely To Be Sentenced In Cipher Case Within A Month'

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday nullified the August 29 notification to hold the jail trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former premier Imran Khan in the cipher case, but there is no relief for him in this development, and he will be sentenced in the case within a month.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that a judicial order will be issued soon, Khan’s trial will be restarted within 7-8 days, and he will be indicted again.

The analyst said that Imran Khan will be sentenced in cipher and Al-Qadir Trust cases before the general elections.

While talking about Khawar Manika’s revelations about her former wife, Bushra Bibi, and Imran Khan, Suharwardy said that there is no private life for public figures, adding that Manika’s interview was newsworthy.

He said that the former chief justice of Pakistan took suo moto of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz's (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz’s marriage with Ayesha Ahad and summoned both in court.

While responding to a question, the analyst said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif is fully active in making political alliances ahead of the polls. He said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman met Nawaz at his residence, and both leaders decided to move forward together.

To another question, Suharwardy said that it is confirmed that Supreme Court Justice Sayyed Muhammad Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi will not save himself from the Supreme Judicial Commission, and he will be held accountable for his alleged corrupt practices.
