Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Karachi for a two-day visit to Sindh on Tuesday night. According to the premier’s schedule, he will not meet Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in his whole visit.

Shortly after arriving in Karachi, PM Imran met Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Minister for Shipping and Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi to discuss the covid-19 situation in the province.

In a statement, the Prime Minister Office (PMO said that the premier was accompanied by Privatisation Minister Muhammad Mian Soomro, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the PM on Information retired Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) chairman. He later met with members of PTI's core committee in Sindh to discuss party matters.

Meanwhile, people on Twitter are criticising PM Imran for not meeting the provincial chief executive in his first visit to Sindh since the deadly coronavirus outbreak broke.

A social media user said: “I am seriously disappointed. Prime Minister of Pakistan is in Karachi, residing 30 seconds away from CM Sindh. And Imran Khan doesn’t have the time to meet him? Even if he had one hour in Karachi, he should’ve met CM Sindh! Keep political differences aside please.”
