PR

Pakistan’s leading crafts foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Omar Mansoor, a leading Pakistani designer based in London, as our Goodwill Ambassador.

Kaarvan Crafts Foundation provides life skills to over 25,000 rural women in over 1,000 villages enabling them to participate in local decision making and connecting them to urban markets. Our partners including UNESCO, UN Women, British Asian Trust, DFID, CERP, Crescent Bahuman, Samusng, Daraz and many others consistently work with us for socially constructive purposes.

Recently the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Kalasha, where our team member Shaira hosted them, and that brought much needed light on the cause of culture and heritage preservation.

Hailing from Lahore, Omar has been making waves in the British fashion scene since the launch of his couture brand in 2008. Since then he has dressed some of the most glamorous women in the world including royalty, the European aristocracy, British actresses and more for events such as the Oscars and Cannes. His designs have also been featured in British Vogue, Huffington Post and The Financial Times.

Upon joining Kaarvan, Omar visited our training institute in Gujranwala and spoke to our trainees about fusing traditional embroideries with modern cuts. It was a successful visit with our artisans excited about learning and exchanging skills.
