A man in Tootal village of Pattoki has been found to be the murderer of his own minor son. The father had earlier reported the child's kidnapping to the police.
Pattoki city police told media that the suspect had killed his own son and tried to portray it as if his son had been kidnapped.
SP Investigation Quddus Baig stated that Ghulam Mohyuddin told police that his five-year-old son had gone missing on Saturday evening.
A case had been registered against unidentified suspects and the district police officer formed a team led by SP Baig to find out the missing boy.
On Sunday, police arrested Mohyuddin on suspicion and the father of the boy confessed to killing his minor son.
The body of the boy was later recovered from the ditches of Talab Sarai village near Manga Mandi.
Police are currently trying to find out the motive behind the murder.
Police also stated that the suspect had strangled his wife to death two years ago, but the elders of his clan had intervened to resolve the matter. The suspect seemed to be mentally upset.
